HOR 114 Landscape Construction Lecture: 2 Lab: 2 Clinic: 0 Credits: 3 This course introduces the design and fabrication of landscape structures/features. Emphasis is placed on safety, tool identification and use, material selection, construction techniques, and fabrication. Upon completion, students should be able to design and construct common landscape structures/features.
Course is typically offered in Spring. Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) At the completion of the course, the students should be able to do the following:
- Make concrete for different landscape applications, using concrete mix and have qualities for commercial jobs.
- Construct brick and stone walls for different landscape applications at a test strength of 95%.
- Repair stone and brick hard-scape in landscape applications and maintain these at original quality.
- Construct a dry wall and a wet wall at commercial quality levels.
