HSE 220 Case Management Lecture: 2 Lab: 2 Clinic: 0 Credits: 3 This course covers the variety of tasks associated with professional case management. Topics include treatment planning, needs assessment, referral procedures, and follow-up and integration of services. Upon completion, students should be able to effectively manage the care of the whole person from initial contact through termination of services.
Pre-requisite(s): HSE 110. Course is typically offered in Fall. Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) At completion of the course, the student should be able to do the following:
- Differentiate between major functions of case management.
- Discuss case management through use of current models, perspectives, and research.
- Determine the needs of clients or client groups through observation, interviewing, active listening, consultation, and research.
- Create comprehensive treatment plans for mock clients.
- Apply prevention, intervention, and maintenance strategies to case vignettes.
