ISC 115 Construction Safety Lecture: 2 Lab: 0 Clinic: 0 Credits: 2 This course introduces the basic concepts of construction site safety. Topics include ladders, lifting, lock-out/tag-out, personal protective devices, scaffolds, and above/below ground work based on OSHA regulations. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate knowledge of applicable safety regulations and safely participate in construction projects.
Course is typically offered in Fall. Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) At the completion of the course, the students should be able to do the following:
- Identify workplace hazards.
- Apply a basic knowledge of construction safety to correct unsafe conditions.
- Recognize the proper way scaffolding should be erected.
