NOS 231 Windows Administration II Lecture: 2 Lab: 2 Clinic: 0 Credits: 3 This course covers the management of a Windows Server operating system. Emphasis is placed on the deployment of print services, network services, Active Directory, group policies and access controls. Upon completion, students should be able to deploy and manage services on a Windows Server operating system.
Pre-requisite(s): NOS 230 . Course is typically offered in Spring. Course has transfer restrictions - 10 years
Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) At the completion of the course, the students should be able to do the following:
- Install and Configure Windows Server 2008.
- Basic understanding of Windows Server infrastructure.
- Manage and maintain IP Addressing.
- Install and configure DHCP.
- Create and Manage DHCP for new scopes, exclusions and reservations.
- Install and Configure DNS.
- Manage DNS in a Server 2008 environment.
- Configure and manage file services in a Server 2008 environment.
- Manage security in Windows Server 2008.
