PED 113 Aerobics I Lecture: 0 Lab: 3 Clinic: 0 Credits: 1 This course introduces a program of cardiovascular fitness involving continuous, rhythmic exercise. Emphasis is placed on developing cardiovascular efficiency, strength, and flexibility and on safety precautions. Upon completion, students should be able to select and implement a rhythmic aerobic exercise program.
This course has been approved for transfer under the CAA as a premajor and/or elective course requirement.
Course is typically offered in Fall and Spring. Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) At the completion of the course, the students should be able to do the following:
- Participate in 80% of aerobic I fitness classes by practicing proper aerobic techniques.
- Perform cardiovascular exercise routine in the classroom.
- Complete pre and post fitness evaluations on a workout card.
