ENG 002 Transition English Lecture: 0 Lab: 6 Clinic: 0 Credits: 3 This course provides an opportunity to customize foundational English content in specific areas and will include developing a growth mindset. Topics include developing the academic habits, learning strategies, social skills, and growth mindset necessary to be successful in college-level English. Upon completion, students should be able to build a stronger foundation for success in their gateway level English courses by obtaining skills through a variety of instructional strategies with emphasis placed on the most essential prerequisite knowledge.
Part of the RISE program.
Course is typically offered in Fall, Spring, and Summer. Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) At the completion of this course, a student will be able to:
- Demonstrate the use of pre-reading, reading, and post-reading strategies. 2. Demonstrate the use of the writing process (including prewriting, drafting, revising, proofreading and editing).
