FIP 231 Chemistry of Hazardous Materials II

This course covers hazardous materials characterization, properties, location, handling and response guidelines, hazard survey principles, and other related topics referenced in NFPA standard 1072. Topics include radiation hazards, instruments, inspections, and detection of the presence of hazardous materials in industrial/commercial occupancies. Upon completion, students should be able to inspect chemical/radioactive sites and use on-site visits to gasoline and/or LPG storage facilities/chemical plants to develop a pre-plan. Pre-requisite(s): FIP 230.
