DRA 131 Acting II

This course provides additional hands-on practice in the actor’s craft. Emphasis is placed on further analysis, characterization, growth, and training for acting competence. Upon completion, students should be able to explore their creativity in an acting ensemble.

This course has been approved for transfer under the CAA as a premajor and/or elective course requirement.

Pre-requisite(s): DRA 130.
Course is typically offered in Fall.

At completion of the course, the student should be able to do the following:

Appraise actor performances within productions by applying terminology and techniques learned through classroom and written activities.
Identify key skills required for application of each master acting technique studied in classroom activities and written analysis.
Apply elements of master acting techniques in scene work and other in-class activities.
Differentiate key elements of master acting techniques from in-class exercises through written analysis and performance-based activities.
