DFT 121 Introduction to GD&T

This course introduces basic geometric dimensioning and tolerancing principles. Topics include symbols, annotation, theory, and applications. Upon completion, students should be able to interpret and apply basic geometric dimensioning and tolerancing principles to drawings.

At completion of the course, the student should be able to do the following:

Identify assumptions and ambiguity of traditional dimensioning methods.
Identify GD&T symbols and their meaning.
Interpret GD&T symbols to control tolerances at a basic level.
Apply the fundamentals of GD&T methods to define geometry.
