The Aviation Systems Technology Airframe Diploma provides individuals with the knowledge and skills to start a career in Aviation maintenance as an Airframe Technician. It is the required instruction to move into Airframe certification. The curriculum is approved by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) under 14 CFR Part 147, which governs aviation maintenance schools.
Course work includes sheetmetal, composites, assembly and rigging, communications and navigation, electrical systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, landing gear, fuel systems, cabin atmosphere, ice/rain and fire protection systems, along with airframe inspection.
New classes are formed each Spring and Summer.
The Aviation Systems Technology (AST) program as a whole is designed to prepare students for certification through the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for the Airframe, Powerplant, or both ratings.
*Diploma has a prerequisite of the Aviation Systems Technology General Certificate - CCP (C 60 20 0 H1) before it can be attempted.
