The Career and College Promise Initiative Certificate in Health Information Technology provides graduates with a basic foundation in health information management. Credit earned in this program may be transferred toward an Associate in Applied Science Degree in HIT (A45360).

Program Outcomes

Upon successful completion of the HIT certificate, the graduate should be able to:

• Use medical terminology and vocabulary effectively
• Demonstrate an understanding of health information management
• Apply policies and procedures for access and disclosure of Protected Health Information
