The Manufacturing Technology Diploma introduces the student to a basic understanding of the manufacturing field, including blueprint reading, metrology, quality control, and choices for the student to pursue welding, electrical, hydraulics, and computer aided manufacturing.
Program Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of the Manufacturing Technology diploma, the graduate should be able to:
- Complete projects using milling machines, bench grinders, power saws, lathes, and drill presses
- Demonstrate quality control operations
- Produce rapid prototyping models
- Demonstrate hydraulic and welding principles or computer-aided drafting, electronic, or CAD/CAM principles
- Students completing this diploma will acquire a minimum of 2 (possibly 6) National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS).

Total credit hours required for diploma: 47
1. Manufacturing Technology Specialization Electives.
Choose a minimum of 6 hours from a single set.
Note:
Students must select options from only one specialty area unless otherwise approved by the department chair.
