Program Requirements - Web Development
The Web Development certificate prepares students for entry level careers as web developers and web administrators, as well as for external certifications from W3Schools, CIW and Adobe. Students in this program will be required to obtain the current industry standard version of the Adobe Creative Suite products intended for the web industry.
Program Outcomes:
Upon completion of the Web Development certificate, the student should be able to:
- Analyze the website related needs of the client and construct a corresponding planning document
- Identify inefficiencies in existing website and incorporate enhancements to appearance, coding, and overall functionality into a new website
- Design and develop a website that satisfies specified requirements while executing all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Develop a website that incorporates static and dynamic content utilizing current industry standard software and techniques
- Utilize industry standard web development techniques to design and develop a website
- Design and develop a website that meets World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) standards
