This certificate program provides graduates with the skills necessary to identify business opportunities, develop a business plan for the purpose of securing financing for an entrepreneurial start-up, and understand how to effectively operate a small business. Credit earned in this program may be transferred toward an Associate in Applied Science Degree in Business Administration.

Upon successful completion of the Business Administration Small Business Certificate, the graduate should be able to:
- Articulate the challenges of entrepreneurship
- Develop a business plan for a small business startup
- Create the marketing, financial, operations, human resources, and customer service components for a small business
- Determine the relevant licensing and regulatory issues for a specific small business
