ARC 114A Architectural CAD Lab

Lecture: 0 Lab: 3 Clinic: 0 Credits: 1
This course provides a laboratory setting to enhance architectural CAD skills. Emphasis is placed on further development of commands and system operation. Upon completion, students should be able to prepare and plot scaled architectural drawings.

Co-requisite(s): ARC 114 .
Course is typically offered in Fall (when offered).
Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs)
At the completion of the course, the students should be able to do the following:

  1. Apply CAD standards to the development of drawings and templates.
  2. Produce floor plans, elevations, and sections using CAD standards.
  3. Apply text, tables, and dimensions to CAD drawings.
  4. Create layers with appropriate object properties and standards.
  5. Maintain a symbols library to be inserted into the Design Center.
  6. Create blocks with attributes and properties.
  7. Plot CAD drawings on large format plotters.
