ATR 212 Industrial Robots Lecture: 2 Lab: 3 Clinic: 0 Credits: 3 This course covers the operation of industrial robots. Topics include the classification of robots, activators, grippers, work envelopes, computer interfaces, overlapping work envelopes, installation, and programming. Upon completion, students should be able to install, program, and troubleshoot industrial robots.
Course is typically offered in Spring. Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) ATR-212 Industrial Robots
At completion of the course, the student should be able to do the following:
- Discuss safety protocols for placing robotics in an industrial environment.
- Teach positions to a six Degree of Freedom industrial robot using a teach pendant.
- Program a robot to avoid obstacles within the work envelope to complete tasks safely and effectively.
- Perform pick-and-place operations within the work envelope.
- Perform assembly operations and orient parts within the work envelope.
