BUS 240 Business Ethics

This course introduces contemporary and controversial ethical issues that face the business community. Topics include moral reasoning, moral dilemmas, law and morality, equity, justice and fairness, ethical standards, and moral development. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate an understanding of their moral responsibilities and obligations as members of the workforce and society.

Course is typically offered in Spring.

Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs)
At completion of the course, the student should be able to do the following:

  1. Apply a variety of ethical theories to business.
  2. Apply the tenets of social responsibility to business decision making.
  3. Utilize ethical behavior in creating corporate culture.
  4. Create meaningful work models for employees.
  5. Apply the tenets of ethical behavior to marketing products.
  6. Utilize ethical behavior when working with subordinates.
