CEG 151 CAD for Engineering Technology

Lecture: 2 Lab: 3 Clinic: 0 Credits: 3
This course introduces computer-aided drafting (CAD) software. Topics include file and data management, drawing, editing, dimensioning commands, plotting, and related topics. Upon completion, students should be able to create and plot basic drawings and maps using CAD software.

Course is typically offered in Fall.
Course has transfer restrictions - 20 years

Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs)
At completion of the course, the student should be able to do the following:

  1. Demonstrate management of digital documents and files.
  2. Employ basic CAD commands for simple drafting exercises.
  3. Demonstrate effective layer management.
  4. Develop a basic drawing template with layers and line types.
  5. Prepare a finished drawing and notes.
  6. Demonstrate plotting skills and use of paper space.
