ELC 213 Instrumentation Lecture: 3 Lab: 2 Clinic: 0 Credits: 4 This course covers the fundamentals of instrumentation used in industry. Emphasis is placed on electric, electronic, and other instruments. Upon completion, students should be able to install, maintain, and calibrate instrumentation.
Pre-requisite(s): Take MAT 121 or MAT 171 , and ELC 112 or ELC 131 . Course is typically offered in Fall. Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) At completion of the course, the student should be able to do the following:
- Complete instrumentation projects within specified timelines.
- Demonstrate calibration techniques in a lab setting.
- Convert units of flow, temperature, level and pressure characteristics into a control signal.
- Analyze Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) controls in feedback circuits.
