EMS 122 EMS Clinical Practicum I

This course provides the introductory hospital clinical experience for the paramedic student. Emphasis is placed on mastering fundamental paramedic skills. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate competency with fundamental paramedic level skills.

Course is typically offered in Summer.
Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs)
At the completion of the course, the students should be able to do the following:

Demonstrate Paramedic-level knowledge of healthcare workplace safety in the performance of skills on live patients.
Apply knowledge of the fundamentals of patient assessment on live patients.
Demonstrate fundamental ability to administer medications appropriately to live patients.
Demonstrate ability to complete Paramedic-level patient care tasks on live patients.
