MAC 248 Production Procedures

Lecture: 1 Lab: 2 Clinic: 0 Credits: 2
This course covers product planning and control and scheduling and routing of operations. Topics include cost-effective production methods, dimensional and statistical quality control, and the tooling and machines required for production. Upon completion, students should be able to plan, set up, and produce cost-effective quality machined parts.

Pre-requisite(s): MAC 121.  
Course is typically offered in Spring.
Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs)
At the completion of the course, the students should be able to do the following:

  1. Develop process plans and materials list for complex assembles to include all materials and cost.
  2. Develop a flow chart for projected part produced.
  3. Develop process plans and materials list for each part of the complex assembles.
  4. Analyze a minimum of three manufacturing methods to determine cost effectiveness.
  5. Analyze production methods and compare cost ratios to parts produced.
