MED 262 Clinical Perspectives Lecture: 1 Lab: 0 Clinic: 0 Credits: 1 This course is designed to explore personal and occupational responsibilities of the practicing medical assistant. Emphasis is placed on problems encountered during externships and development of problem-solving skills. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate courteous and diplomatic behavior when solving problems in the medical facility.
Pre-requisite(s): Admission to the Medical Assisting Program. Course is typically offered in Spring. Course has transfer restrictions - 2 years
Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) At the completion of the course, the students should be able to do the following:
- Develop positive interpersonal skills within the externship environment.
- Critique soft skills of peers/self within the medical practice.
- Evaluate employment opportunities.
- Create a job portfolio for employment interview with an 80% or better.
