NOS 110 Operating System Concepts

Lecture: 2 Lab: 3 Clinic: 0 Credits: 3
This course introduces students to a broad range of operating system concepts, including installation and maintenance. Emphasis is placed on operating system concepts, management, maintenance, and resources required. Upon completion of this course, students will have an understanding of OS concepts, installation, management, maintenance, using a variety of operating systems.

Co-requisite(s): CIS 110 .
Course is typically offered in Fall, Spring and Summer (when offered).
Course has transfer restrictions - 10 years

At the completion of the course, the students should be able to do the following:

  1. Install a network operating system.
  2. Use the command line interface.
  3. Demonstrate file permission management.
  4. Navigate different Graphical User Interfaces.
