PED 117 Weight Training I Lecture: 0 Lab: 3 Clinic: 0 Credits: 1 This course introduces the basics of weight training. Emphasis is placed on developing muscular strength, muscular endurance, and muscle tone. Upon completion, students should be able to establish and implement a personal weight training program.
This course has been approved for transfer under the CAA as a premajor and/or elective course requirement.
Course is typically offered in Fall and Spring. Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) At the completion of the course, the students should be able to do the following:
- Document 80% participation in an individualized weight training program.
- Complete pre and post muscular analysis on a workout card. 3. Demonstrate individualized weight training concepts on written quizzes with a 60% average.
