CJC 260 Threat Assessment

Lecture: 1 Lab: 2 Clinic: 0 Credits: 2
This course prepares students to perform extensive security audits for private corporations and for local and state government, identifying weaknesses in their overall security programs. Emphasis will be placed on risk analysis studies that examine the methods, procedures, and systems for security gaps and vulnerabilities. Upon completion, students should be able to evaluate all facets of a protective program from corporate disaster response planning to security teams guarding local/state officials.  

Course is typically offered in Spring.
Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs)
At completion of the course, the student should be able to do the following:

  1. Examine documented security audits for private and government organizations.
  2. Identify the methods, procedures, and security gaps in threat assessment and management.
  3. Formulate a risk analysis study for a local business or government building.
  4. Illustrate the steps of a security audit, including threat assessments, security performance, risk scoring, and proposed solutions.
  5. Demonstrate the deployment tactics of law enforcement during and after a successful security breach.
