AUB 121 Non-Structural Damage I

Lecture: 1 Lab: 4 Clinic: 0 Credits: 3
This course introduces safety, tools, and the basic fundamentals of body repair. Topics include shop safety, damage analysis, tools and equipment, repair techniques, materials selection, materials usage, and other related topics. Upon completion, students should be able to identify and repair minor direct and indirect damage including removal/repairing/replacing of body panels to accepted standards.

Pre-requisite(s): Enrollment in the Collision Repair & Refinishing Program.
Co-requisite(s): DRE 097  or ENG 002  
Course is typically offered in Fall.
Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs)
At the completion of the course, the students should be able to do the following:

  1. Identify safety equipment and procedures associated with non-structural repairs in a written exercise.
  2. Repair minor damage to body panels.
  3. Demonstrate metal straightening techniques.
  4. Demonstrate metal shrinking techniques.
  5. Demonstrate filler application and finishing techniques.
  6. Demonstrate the proper use of tools, equipment, and materials related to non-structural repairs.
