CEG 230 Subdivision Planning & Design Lecture: 1 Lab: 6 Clinic: 0 Credits: 3 This course covers the planning and design concepts related to subdivisions including analysis of development standards, engineering, and the creation of CAD drawings. Topics include applicable codes, lot creation, roadway system layout, stormwater drainage, low impact development (LID) concepts, and related topics. Upon completion, students should be able to prepare a set of subdivision plans.
Pre-requisite(s): Take 3 credits from CEG 151 , DFT 151 , or EGR 120. Take CEG 211 and SRV 111 or CIV 215 . Course is typically offered in Spring. Course has transfer restrictions - 20 years
Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) At completion of the course, the student should be able to do the following:
- Interpret the local development ordinance as it applies to subdivisions and land development projects.
- Create a preliminary subdivision plan based on design and regulatory parameters.
- Prepare a final subdivision plat.
- Demonstrate lot sizing techniques using CAD.
- Demonstrate competence in CAD with areas, alignments and profiles.
