CIV 240 Project Management Lecture: 2 Lab: 3 Clinic: 0 Credits: 3 This course introduces construction planning and scheduling techniques and project management software. Topics include construction safety, operation analysis, construction scheduling, construction control systems, claims and dispute resolutions, project records, and documentation. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate an understanding of the roles of construction project participants, maintain construction records, and prepare construction schedules.
Course is typically offered in Spring. Course has transfer restrictions - 20 years
Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) At completion of the course, the student should be able to do the following:
- Contrast the various contract types and delivery methods.
- Develop construction schedules.
- Identify the various parties to a construction project and their interrelationships.
- Demonstrate the importance of project records and documentation.
- Examine change orders and the processes involved in revising a contract.
- Recognize the importance of safety.
