COS 113 Cosmetology Concepts II Lecture: 4 Lab: 0 Clinic: 0 Credits: 4 This course covers more comprehensive cosmetology concepts. Topics include safety, product knowledge, chemistry, manicuring, chemical restructuring, and hair coloring. Upon completion, students should be able to safely and competently apply these cosmetology concepts in the salon setting.
Pre-requisite(s): C or better in COS 111 and COS 112 . Co-requisite(s): COS 114. Course is typically offered in Fall and Spring. Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) At the completion of the course, the student will successfully demonstrate, with 70% accuracy on an exam, each of the following skills as assessed using the NC State Board guidelines:
- Identify and describe skin structures, disorders and diseases.
- Identify and haircolor principles, formulation and application.
- Identify and describe artificial nails and application
- Identify and describe facials and facial makeup.
- Identify and describe hair removal.
