HUM 110 Technology and Society Lecture: 3 Lab: 0 Clinic: 0 Credits: 3 This course considers technological change from historical, artistic, and philosophical perspectives and its effect on human needs and concerns. Emphasis is placed on the causes and consequences of technological change. Upon completion, students should be able to critically evaluate the implications of technology.
This course has been approved for transfer under the CAA as a general education course in Humanities/Fine Arts.
Pre-requisite(s): DRE 097 or ENG 002 Course is typically offered in Fall, Spring, and Summer. Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to demonstrate all of the following outcomes to the standards identified on the course assessment rubrics.
- Identify the major technological innovations in the evolution of world cultures.
- Evaluate the positive and negative causal relationships between technology and the natural world.
