MAT 122 Algebra/Trigonometry II Lecture: 2 Lab: 2 Clinic: 0 Credits: 3 This course is designed to cover concepts in algebra, function analysis, and trigonometry. Topics include exponential and logarithmic functions, transformations of functions, Law of Sines, Law of Cosines, vectors, and statistics. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate the ability to use mathematics and technology for problem-solving, analyzing and communicating results.
Pre-requisite(s): DRE 098 or ENG 002 (P2 grade) and C or better in MAT 121. Course is typically offered in Spring. Course has transfer restrictions - 20 years
Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) At the completion of the course, the students should be able to do the following:
- Solve relevant contextual problems involving exponential and logarithmic functions.
- Interpret and create transformations of functions.
- Utilize the Law of Sines and Law of Cosines to solve oblique triangles and their applications.
- Define vectors and compute vector operations.
- Apply vector concepts to solve applications.
- Employ basic statistical concepts to summarize and present data and draw conclusions.
