PHM 134 Pharmacy Clinical Lecture: 0 Lab: 0 Clinic: 12 Credits: 4 This course provides an opportunity to work in pharmacy settings under a pharmacist’s supervision. Emphasis is placed on effective communication with personnel, developing proper employee attitude, and dispensing of medications. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate an understanding of pharmacy operations, utilize references, dispense medications, prepare patient charges, and efficiently operate computers.
Pre-requisite(s): None Co-requisite(s): None Course is typically offered in Spring. Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) At the completion of the course, the students should be able to do the following:
- Demonstrate medication preparation and distribution safely in a clinical setting.
- Discuss policies and other print materials related to safe preparation and distribution of medication in the clinical setting.
- Perform calculations to safely prepare medications and solutions in the clinical setting.
- Operate current technologies to prepare, store, inventory, and distribute medications in the clinical setting.
