PLU 140 Introduction to Plumbing Codes Lecture: 1 Lab: 2 Clinic: 0 Credits: 2 This course covers plumbing industry codes and regulations. Emphasis is placed on North Carolina regulations and the minimum requirements for plumbing materials and design. Upon completion, students should be able to research and interpret North Carolina plumbing codes.
Course is typically offered in Spring. Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) At the completion of the course, the students should be able to do the following:
- Identify the components and the operations of residential sewers, drainage, and plumbing systems.
- Classify the different types of venting systems.
- Identify materials used for plumbing fixtures, DWV fittings and water distribution systems.
- Demonstrate proper selection of materials for various plumbing applications.
