MAT 003 Transition Math Lecture: 0 Lab: 6 Clinic: 0 Credits: 3 This course provides an opportunity to customize foundational math content in specific math areas and will include developing a growth mindset. Topics include developing the academic habits, learning strategies, social skills, and growth mindset necessary to be successful in mathematics. Upon completion, students should be able to build a stronger foundation for success in their gateway level math courses by obtaining skills through a variety of instructional strategies with emphasis placed on the most essential prerequisite knowledge.
Part of the RISE program.
Course is typically offered in Fall, Spring, and Summer. Course has transfer restrictions - Developmental credits from out of state are not accepted.
Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) At the completion of the course, the students should be able to do the following:
- Develop the academic habits, learning strategies, social skills, and growth mindset necessary to be successful in mathematics.
- Demonstrate mastery in the topics required for the student’s program of study as listed below. (see attached document for complete list)
