CJC 110 Basic Law Enforcement BLET

Lecture: 10 Lab: 30 Clinic: 0 Credits: 20
This course covers the basic skills and knowledge needed for entry-level employment as a law enforcement officer in North Carolina. Topics include those mandated by North Carolina Administration Code as essential for functioning in law enforcement. Upon completion, the student should be able to demonstrate competence in the topics required for the state comprehensive certification examination.

Course is typically offered in Fall and Spring.
Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs)
At completion of the course, the student should be able to do the following:

  1. Demonstrate driving skills for law enforcement.
  2. Demonstrate subject control and arrest techniques.
  3. Use firearms appropriately.
  4. Demonstrate proper handling of domestic violence incidents.
  5. Apply first responder principles in a given assignment.
