ART 212 Gallery Assistantship I Lecture: 0 Lab: 6 Clinic: 0 Credits: 3 This course covers the practical application of display techniques. Emphasis is placed on preparation of artwork for installation, hardware systems, and exhibition graphics. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate basic gallery exhibition skills.
This course has been approved for transfer under the CAA as a premajor and/or elective course requirement.
Course is typically offered in (check with department). Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) At the completion of the course, the students should be able to do the following:
- Demonstrate safe and securely handling works of art in accordance with best practices.
- Prepare works of art in various mediums for gallery installation.
- Demonstrate standard presentation methods and hardware systems for art installation.
- Demonstrate the preparation and installation of exhibition graphics.
- Explain basics of gallery maintenance and upkeep.
