OMT 110 Introduction to Operations Management

This course provides an overview of the operations management field. Topics include production and operations planning, materials management, environmental health and safety, and quality management. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate an understanding of the operations management functions.

Course is typically offered in Summer.

Describe production and operations planning methods used in manufacturing.
Recognize the purpose of MRP and ERP systems used in manufacturing.
Summarize OSHA requirements for PPE.
Identify quality management’s role in manufacturing.
Identify supply chain management’s role in manufacturing.
