ELN 260 Prog Logic Controllers Lecture: 3 Lab: 3 Credits: 4 This course provides a detailed study of PLC applications, with a focus on design of industrial controls using the PLC. Topics include PLC components, memory organization, math instructions, documentation, input/output devices, and applying PLCs in industrial control systems. Upon completion, students should be able to select and program a PLC system to perform a wide variety of industrial control functions.
Pre-requisite(s): ELC 131 and ATR 112 Course is typically offered in Fall Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) At completion of the course, the student should be able to do the following:
- Analyze a fault in a vehicle electronics system using industry published wiring schematics and repair information.
- Select the proper diagnostic tool or tools to find a fault in a vehicle Controller Area Network (CAN) bus.
- Explain how advanced electrical technology, such as body control systems, collision avoidance systems, and vehicle telematics work.
