OST 122 Office Computations Lecture: 2 Lab: 2 Credits: 3 This course covers the keypad touch method using the electronic calculator (10-key) and mathematical functions used in office applications. Topics may include budgets, discounts, purchasing, inventory, and petty cash. Upon completion, students should be able to solve a wide variety of numerical problems commonly encountered in an office setting.
Course is typically offered in pending Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) Students should be able to do the following upong completion of the course:
- Perform calculations using addition, subtraction, multiplication and division with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Convert fractions, decimals, and whole numbers to other formats.
- Define the purpose of banking documents, including deposits, checks, and reconciliations.
- Calculate net pay using various types of payroll methods (e.g. hourly, salary, commission).
- Use the ten-key pad on computer keyboard to enter numbers into business documents.
