AHR 213 HVACR Building Code Lecture: 1 Lab: 2 Clinic: 0 Credits: 2 This course covers the North Carolina codes that are applicable to the design and installation of HVACR systems. Topics include current North Carolina codes as applied to HVACR design, service, and installation. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate the correct usage of North Carolina codes that apply to specific areas of the HVACR trade.
Course is typically offered in Fall. Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) At completion of the course, the student should be able to do the following:
- Use the correct North Carolina Mechanical, Fuel Gas, and Energy Conservation Codes, key terms, and abbreviations for HVACR design, installation, and maintenance scenarios.
- Locate code information, interpretations, and forms from the NC Office of the State Fire Marshal.
- Use fuel gas tables to size gas piping systems.
