ARC 226 Architectural BIM II Lecture: 1 Lab: 3 Clinic: 0 Credits: 2 This course covers advanced concepts of Building Information Modeling (BIM) including complex drawing generation and inter-disciplinary collaboration. Topics include advanced parametric modeling and model analysis, inter-disciplinary coordination, design web format models, material take-off, schedules, and rendering. Upon completion, students should be able to apply BIM software to create full 3D project models and convert them to scaled working or presentation drawings.
Pre-requisite(s): Grade of C or better in ARC 225 . Course is typically offered in Fall and Summer (when offered). Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) At the completion of the course, the students should be able to do the following:
- Create a complete set of scaled working or presentation drawings with interior and exterior elevations.
- Develop new construction families/details of building materials.
- Create Longitudinal Sections, Cross Section views, and typical wall sections.
- Create drawing designs between different disciplines, (i.e., Architectural, MEP and Structural).
- Create parametric modeling and model analysis of completed project.
- Apply Building Information Modeling (BIM) software to create simple architectural structures.
- Manage created 3D (3-Dimensional) objects and drawings.
