AUB 131 Structural Damage I

Lecture: 2 Lab: 4 Clinic: 0 Credits: 4


This course introduces safety, equipment, structural damage analysis, and damage repairs. Topics include shop safety, design and construction, structural analysis and measurement, equipment, structural glass, repair techniques, and other related topics. Upon completion, students should be able to analyze and perform repairs to a vehicle which has received light/moderate structural damage.

 

Pre-requisite(s): TRN 110
Co-requisite(s): ENG-002 or ENG 025   and MAT-003 (P2 Grade) or ENG 025  
Course is typically offered in Spring.
Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs)
At the completion of the course, the students should be able to do the following tasks according to NATEF standards through written format and hands on performance:

  1. Utilize safety equipment and procedures associated with structural repairs. 
  2. Anchor a vehicle based on construction design and manufacturer recommendations.
  3. Create a repair plan based on vehicle damage analysis.
  4. Perform light repairs to structurally damaged vehicles.
