HMT 212 Management of Healthcare Organizations Lecture: 3 Lab: 0 Clinic: 0 Credits: 3 This course examines current issues affecting the management of healthcare delivery systems. Topics include current problems, changes, and challenges in the healthcare environment. Upon completion, students should be able to identify current health care issues and their impact on healthcare management.
Pre-requisite(s): HMT 110. Course is typically offered in Spring. Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) At the completion of the course, the students should be able to do the following:
- Demonstrate the organizational management skills required for effective health services managers.
- Analyze the nature of leadership and factors contributing to effectiveness and success in healthcare operations.
- Examine the role and responsibility of supervisors/management in health care operations.
- Demonstrate various forms of communication and how effective communication applies to the role of a supervisor/manager in a healthcare setting.
- Analyze individual conflict management styles and how they impact your role as a supervisor/manager in a healthcare setting.
