ISC 132 Manufacturing Quality Control

Lecture: 2 Lab: 3 Clinic: 0 Credits: 3
This course introduces quality concepts and techniques used in industry. Topics include elementary statistics and probability, process control, process capability, and quality improvement tools. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate an understanding of the concepts and principles of quality and apply them to the work environment.

Course is typically offered in Spring and Summer.
Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs)
At the completion of the course, the students should be able to do the following:

  1. Articulate the history and requirements for effective quality systems in modern manufacturing.
  2. Describe the tools of quality systems.
  3. Determine capability indices to describe a process.
  4. Create control charts.
  5. Interpret control charts.
  6. Describe various quality systems used in modern manufacturing.
