NOS 120 Linux Single User

Lecture: 2 Lab: 3 Clinic: 0 Credits: 3
This course provides students with GUI and command line skills for using a Linux machine. Topics include Linux file system and access permissions, desktop or shell environments, command line editors, display servers, expression pattern matching, I/O redirection, and networking. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate competency in customizing a Linux system.

Course is typically offered in Fall, Spring, and Summer.
Course has transfer restrictions - 10 years

At the completion of the course, the students should be able to do the following:

  1. Install a Linux Operating System.
  2. Demonstrate a Linux system configuration.
  3. Evaluate the Linux hierarchical file system.
  4. Explain Linux file management.
