ARC 133 Construction Doc Analysis Lecture: 1 Lab: 3 Clinic: 0 Credits: 2 This course covers the analysis of building construction drawings. Emphasis is placed on material identification, understanding construction details, and the relationships of building structural, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems. Upon completion, students should be able to analyze a set of construction drawings by identifying building construction materials and understanding construction details and engineering systems.
Course is typically offered in Fall. Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) Upon completion of the course, students should be able to do the following:
- Describe design and compliance intent using construction documents.
- Interpret spatial relationships and design intent using construction drawings.
- Analyze section drawings for spatial and structural details.
- Describe the importance of architectural details in function and aesthetics.
- Analyze site plans for legal, functional, and aesthetic factors.
- Determine safety and compliance using structural drawings.
- Interpret mechanical, plumbing, life safety, and electrical drawings for building systems.
