The Office Administration AAS is designed for individuals seeking positions as office managers or executive administrative assistants in a variety of business and industry settings. Students will develop skills in administrative office procedures and tasks, along with MS Office software applications, keyboarding, advanced document editing and formatting, and office-related mathematical computations. Coursework also includes enhancement of employability skills, i.e., oral and written communication, critical thinking, team building, and problem solving.

The AAS program also covers the basics through the advanced features of MS Office Applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, including the commonly used functions of Outlook and Access. Students completing this AAS career path will be eligible to complete exams to earn the Microsoft Office Specialist: Expert certification.

Note:


Courses in this program prepare the student for the Microsoft Office User Specialist Exams. Students will be required to purchase a voucher for these exams as part of the required course materials for each course in the program. Individual exams will be administered at the end of each of the individual courses. When a voucher is required for a particular course, it will be identified on the syllabus and in prominent locations such as Canvas and the GTCC Bookstore.
