The two-year program listed below is designed to meet the requirements for an Associate of Arts transfer degree from GTCC and prepare a student for obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy at University of North Carolina at Greensboro, North Carolina A&T State University, Appalachian State University, University of North Carolina at Charlotte, or University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
However, students from GTCC seeking a baccalaureate degree may also transfer to other institutions. These institutions may require different courses within the various areas of General Education. Students interested in transferring to a four-year college or university after GTCC should consult with the institution they will be attending, their faculty advisor, and/or the GTCC Student Success Center.
Upon successful completion of this degree, graduates will be able to:
- Apply strategies to acquire new information (concepts and perspectives) in a variety of academic disciplines.
- Analyze academic, workplace, and societal issues presented in a variety of academic disciplines using discipline-specific concepts and underlying perspectives.
- Use critical thinking (reason and creativity in problem-solving and decision-making) in a variety of academic disciplines.
- Demonstrate use of technology appropriate to a variety of academic disciplines.

1 UNCG requires HIS-131 OR HIS-132; all other universities should consider HIS-111 or HIS-112
2 UNCC requires MAT-171
3 UNCG requires BIO-110; other universities should follow UGETC Natural Science options: AST-151/151A, CHM-151, GEL-111 or PHY-110/110A
4 UNCG requires four semesters of foreign language; UNCC requires a Humanities/Fine Arts from the following: MUS-110, ART-111, ART-114 or ART-115; consult other university pathways for pre-major elective ideas.
