ACC 227 Practices in Accounting Lecture: 3 Lab: 0 Clinic: 0 Credits: 3 This course provides an advanced in-depth study of selected topics in accounting using case studies and individual and group problem solving. Topics include cash flow, financial statement analysis, individual and group problem solving, practical approaches to dealing with clients, ethics, and critical thinking. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate competent analytical skills and effective communication of their analysis in written and/or oral presentations.
Pre-requisite(s): ACC 220 . Course is typically offered in Spring. Course has transfer restrictions - 10 years
Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) At completion of the course, the student should be able to do the following:
- Complete Adjusting Entries.
- Complete Correcting Entries.
- Calculate depreciation using Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures (GAAP).
- Calculate Inventory using a variety of methods.
- Calculate Payroll entries.
- Implement basic internal control procedures within a company.
