GRD 131 Illustration I

Lecture: 1 Lab: 3 Clinic: 0 Credits: 2
This course introduces the application of rendering techniques to create illustrations. Emphasis is placed on controlling various media, methods, surfaces, design problems, and the appropriate media selection process. Upon completion, students should be able to produce quality illustrations from conception through finished artwork.

Pre-requisite(s): C or better in ART 131,  DES 125, or GRD 121.
Course is typically offered in Spring.
Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs)
At the completion of the course, the students should be able to do the following:

  1. Create projects using a variety of drawing media and techniques. 
  2. Evaluate progress of self and others through group critiques and written assessments. 
  3. Demonstrate professional standards by adhering to classroom rules. 
  4. Prepare artwork appropriately for various media types and display.
